The private (logged in users only) message board at the official Windsor website was dropped near the end of 2007, having been available only half a year. Many of us were excited this common avenue of communication was available to our community, though an influential minority (of 1?) did not like the idea. What follows are discussions available to me (Dave) highlighting this divide.
In the first half of 2007, the Windsor website came online using AtHomeNet's TOPS IWSS and the private (logged in users only) message board functionality it offered.

I've noticed none of the Board is subscribed to receive email notification of Windosr Message Board updates. I'm sure the Windsor community would appreciate the perspective you could offer on the concerns they voice there. Such website preferences can always be found in the "Resident/Owner"website navigation menu item.

Thank you Dave...
There is so much work done by the Board off line, email conversations would add another layer of responsibility.
I'd rather encourage committee involvement among homeowners.
Although I have not seen the comments, some homeowners chose to use the website as a gripe session, stating information that was not accurate.

Thank you Dave...
You're welcome, Winnie. Happy to help out.

I mentioned receiving notification of website message board postings by email (not "email conversations"). The amount of responsibility this adds can start very small and still provide benefit, for example:
I'd rather encourage committee involvement among homeowners.
"Committee involvement among homeowners" could be possible for homeowners with conflicting schedules (or locations) by utilizing the website.
Although I have not seen the comments, some homeowners chose to use the website as a gripe session, stating information that was not accurate.
Accurate information is often only available to the Board; it'd be great to see more of that accurate information on the website message board.
I understand only you can prioritize your time, and am impressed by the effort I imagine you must put forth to serve on the Board. Thank you for your service to our community.

Dave:
I would like for you to delete the two entries on the message board regarding audio minutes.
Please delete the information as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Thank you,
Winnie Maddox
The two entries have been deleted from the Message Board.
A Message Board Policy is now referenced at the top of the Message Board to avoid future problems. Please modify it to your liking.

This is a message to the communications committee. The board has voted to remove the message board. Based on that vote, I asked AtHomeNet to delete the message board this morning.
As members of the communications committee, if you are asked about this, please just say that the majority of the association’s board made the decision.
Thanks
Robert
