This is a place to discuss and document the different roles (permissions) we'd like to define for our online community. Roles define the capabilities of users to which the role is assigned. A user may be assigned any number of roles.

Currently (2006-12-09), we have:

anonymous user

The role automatically assigned to users who are not logged in. They can:

• Post moderated comments
• View public content

authenticated user

The role automatically assigned to users who are logged in (no matter their assigned role).

They can now:

• Post unmoderated comments
• Create & edit content (with forced revision to allow roll-back)

trusted

Users who are able to view "sensative" (like some financial or personal information).

How to determine who is trusted? Maybe we'll have a sponsor system? (discuss)
