Perhaps the best way to look at this would be very pragmatically, suggesting tasks that users might have, then imagining how each site might be configured to help the user accomplish the tasks. This is a good exercise anyway, since we'll need to identify what we want our website to do sometime (then later, how we'll do it (with whatever platform we choose)).
